So, to start off this entry I should explain that I have never been the most "in shape" person. Back in February Drew and I wanted to get out of the apartment and do something outdoorsy. We actually had a weekend with good weather and no snow. So we head over to Pinnacle Mountain. It is a small mountain with trails ranging from easy to difficult. We picked a side and the hike was 1 1/2 miles. I couldn't even make it half way. I was so upset that I couldn't do it. I even turned on the water works and felt so sorry for myself. How could I be 30 and not even do a hike with my husband? I was devastated. After this defeat, I tried to do the couch to 5k program...unsuccessfully. I made it to week 4 and just decided to continue at my own pace of walking/jogging 3-4 days a week. I greatly improved my heart rate and April we braved Pinnacle again. Here are some pictures of my victory.
It was so cool to accomplish something that I thought I couldn't do!!
